SimNet TSHeat

SimNet TSHeat computational package for dynamic simulation of district heating networks with built-in GIS support and fully expandable database for inventory purposes.

Main advantages of the software:

  • Dynamic network simulation – analyze the behavior of the network over a defined period of time. Enter the forecasted outdoor temperature and check whether each consumer will receive the required supply parameters at the district heating substation. Without risking hot water shortages for users, simulate the effects of lowering the supply temperature at the source. Predict potential failures and determine which consumers may be deprived of heat supply.
  • Heat storage simulation – perform hydraulic analysis of the network operation in cooperation with heat storage units. Test potential storage tank locations and assess the benefits of their application. Select the appropriate storage tank size. Without financial risk, verify the operation of the network with multiple storage units!
  • Ease of use – the intuitive application interface uses mechanisms familiar from typical Windows programs. After short training, users are able to operate the program effectively and make full use of its potential (sample interface view below). The program includes a built-in user manual, and in case of difficulties, the technical support team is always ready to assist.
  • Unlimited simulation – perform calculations for networks of any size and structure. In the network model you can insert any number of pipes and elements such as sources, substations, shut-off valves, pressure reducing valves, heat storage units or pumping stations. Each element can be assigned individual parameters, which may also vary over time during the simulation. Create various simulation scenarios and compare results to achieve the required parameters for the real network.
  • Key parameters at your fingertips – pressures, temperatures, heat loads, heat losses, travel times and many other values can be displayed according to the user’s needs. Available forms of information display include: database view, data of a specific object, map labels, displaying values as object color/symbol/size, piezometric charts with additional parameters, summary graphs and many more.
  • Reduced measurement costs – verify simulation results by comparing them with measurement data to calibrate the network model. Evaluate the quality of the telemetry system and measuring devices at critical points of the network, while obtaining the remaining data from simulation results. Purchasing and maintaining redundant measuring devices is far more expensive than maintaining the software.
  • Built-in GIS – display the network diagram on real base maps. The application supports WMS, WMTS, and WFS services and allows importing any external vector and raster layers such as SHP, TAB, DXF, DWG, DNG, GIF, BMP, PNG and many more. Additionally, the imported layer will be correctly positioned on the map thanks to recognition of more than 5,000 geographic coordinate systems.
  • Rich functionality – the application enables advanced filtering of available data and generating reports. Thanks to built-in libraries of pipes, control curves, demand profiles and others, network operating parameters can be easily and quickly completed. The network itself can also be imported from vector data in any format with just a few clicks.
  • User-focused development – as the creators of the software, we respond to the needs of our clients. The application is continuously developed and expanded with user requirements in mind.
